Event Photos

These are examples of some of the events we have taken part in, from a Sky News programme to supporting BBC Stargazing Live programme

Painshill 2016

WAG worked with Painshill Park to put on an observing evening for around forty people. This was very popular, and a great success. We observed up near the Gothic Temple, in beautiful surroundings and it really was an enjoyable evening. Many excellent targets seen and the skies were nice and dark. Unfortunately poor weather put paid to further events which were cancelled. We are due to try again on 26th March 2020, so hopefully the weather will be kinder then. Fingers crossed!

Sky News Team - Swipe - 2015

WAG worked with the Sky News Team to produce an episode of Swipe. We chatted about the different apps and telescopes which make it so much easier for amateur astronomers to gaze at the night sky.

BBC Stargazing Live - Royal Holloway - 2014

WAG participated in the BBC Stargazing Live event in January. It was a hugely successful evening; the general public was very enthusiastic and it was a perfectly clear night.
